Aboard the Hunu we recognize there are many reasons why you might want a private boat rental in the Pacific Northwest for just a day or even half day. In the Puget Sound, it is not always easy to find a short term boat rental.

In the immediate vicinity of Seattle, Lake Washington, Lake Union it certainly is possible to take the various tours offered. You will find cruises that cover the waterfront homes and surrounding attractions.

Having a crewed boat for a short term rental has a number of advantages. Whatever your reasons for wanting a short term boat rental they likely don’t include having to familiarize yourself with the boat, being responsible for not damaging it, and spending time docking and tidying up at the conclusion of your day rental.

Mostly people want variations on a couple of different scenarios. You have an occasion of some sort that you wish to celebrate or honor. There is a desire to be in nature, and in one fashion or another connect with the outdoors in your preferred fashion. This second choice includes everything from romantic getaways, to escape and of course recharging your system.

What would your ultimate customized retreat include?
With a crewed boat we believe it simplifies and reduces the potential for additional stress. If your goal is to celebrate, relax, and have as enjoyable experience as possible that is what we facilitate.
In a typical 4-8 hour day charter you will have given us a good idea of what is motivating you to visit. Having decided where the boat will be to meet you we will proceed from there based on your preferences and time constraints. We have a 4 hour minimum for our day rentals.

In the Pacific NW midsummer we have daylight of 16 hours. One of the offsets for long dark winter nights. One of the primary benefits we offer is flexibility. Not infrequently we have had guests rent the boat for a late afternoon to sunset cruise. Once aboard and enjoying themselves they frequently inquire if they might extend their stay and make it an overnight. We are happy to accommodate this possibility if it does not conflict with previously made commitments.

Similarly, you might have wanted a cruise to see Port Townsend and Marrowstone Island and in the moment decide to kayak around Hadlock harbor and end up having a delicious meal at a restaurant we recommend and frequent ourselves.

Unless otherwise arranged we do not provide meals during our day rentals. We will provide non-alcoholic refreshments and a light snack. You are welcome to contact us to discuss additional requests you might have. You are also welcome to bring food and refreshments of your choice with you.

Concerning the Weather - If you are planning for a Private Boat rental in the Pacific Northwest, the best laid plans are frequently changed by the endless localized weather conditions. This is especially true throughout the Puget Sound area. It is not surprising to find rain or fog in one harbor while a few miles away there is sunshine. If you have spent time in and around the Puget Sound on a boat you already know this. Our suggestion to guests, repeats most outdoor advice for the Pacific NW -bring layers, and expect change. In the boating world it is safe to add “expect moisture”

Generally speaking, we watch the weather patterns and if the weather is not user friendly to your desired plans we make adaptions. Such is the nature of boating, not just in the Puget but most anywhere you deal with large bodies of water.
