Glamping Luxury Boat Rental in The San Juan Islands

A possible Glamping luxury boat rental in the San Juan Islands scenario might  go like this.  You come aboard we take you to a camping spot so remote you have to take a boat…. (Johnny Depp is not involved in this) although we will play the song on the stereo system. We can get you ashore in our RIB or let you take a kayak if you crave a solo adventure. Thus you and your camping gear get transported to the agreed upon location with a bare minimum of fuss.

Should it rain, or you suddenly realize that sleeping in a comfortable queen bed has significant appeal, after a day of hiking and a potential night with mosquitoes ….  It will be available. Around the Puget sound there are certainly a number of great glamping locations.  That said, virtually none of them offer the opportunity to roll your sleeping gear out on a deck platform that not only will rock you to sleep but shifts direction offering you different views. Sky, stars, moon, shorelines, view of mountains all revolve and rotate as the boat swings at anchor.

Glamping, as we all know, comes in many forms.  As part of our custom retreats and outdoor adventures we offer a fairly wide variety of glamping experiences and opportunities.  Glamping in the Pacific NW, specifically on and around the Puget sound has a few additional pros  and cons.

The preponderance of camp sites that exist in the San Juan islands offer much more private and remote glamping opportunities than ones typically road accessible.  The distinctions being that your gear can be dropped off with you, close to your chosen site.  Should you wish to return to the luxury of your on board accommodations - they will be close at hand.

You also have choice of locations to choose from should you opt for staying aboard versus a land based camp site. With a minimum of fuss you can return to the boat and grab a hot shower and your specially made hot beverage.  As a camper in the Pacific NW  you know that without a tent you have a good chance of waking up covered in dew.  This is true on the Hunu as well if you choose to glamp in one of our uncovered areas. We have three uncovered areas. The covered areas are multiple and have comfortable cushions and a variety of choices for viewing the outdoors.

Activities included -  Kayaking,  photo shoots, fishing, solitude/reflection, birding, crabbing, clamming, hikes, clamming, cruising, dinghy rides and beach exploring, customized options.  .  Retreat packages include two hours of coaching should you be looking for personal or business coaching during your time aboard.

Available options -   Massages on board -various modalities, coaching services, Family Constellation Therapy.

In short, if glamping luxury boating in the San Juan Islands in style appeals to you, consider the unique experiences you can create.  If you are looking for something that will engender long lasting memories – you will like the flexibility and twists you can put on your customized glamping expedition aboard the Hunu.  If you have further questions please give us a call to discuss what can be arranged for your next wild in nature outdoor adventure.

What many don’t know are the multiple changes and challenges that are currently being experienced in the area.  Destinations like the popular San Juan Islands are facing water shortages for several reasons.

The primary challenge is the overabundance of tourists that are taxing finite resources.  Most noticeable is water.  While the locals are asking for limits, the tourist board and other promoters get their revenue from numbers and the fallout is not their primary concern.

This affects everyone and not always in favorable ways. It certainly affects camping and glamping in several ways.  With a drier climate and warmer weather the fire risks have risen while the water tables have dropped. Eventually this is leading to restrictions on availability of camp sites and higher fees.  We want to make your Glamping luxury boating in the San Juan Islands as pleasurable as possible.

We chose to utilize a water maker onboard just to alleviate the problem of needing to get water from communities and locations where it was in short supply and high demand.
