Outdoor Adventure Boating on the Puget Sound
The scope of outdoor adventure boating on the Puget Sound is pretty staggering. Being located on a boat in the Puget sound gives you immediate access to quite the cross section.

We often start a day with an early morning sunrise kayak trip or hike along some deserted beach. We routinely get treated to the Cascades , the Olympics, Mt. Baker, Mt Ranier glowing pink to gold in the first rays of sunlight. Again depending on the anchorage we may see one or more of these mountains reflecting sunset colors amplified by whatever snow covering they might have.

Depending on the tide, the season, location and the mood for wild fresh harvested seafood the Kayaks or the dinghy are often used for nearby fishing, crabbing, or shellfish collecting.

With a drybag for photo equipment the kayaks offer an excellent quiet approach to a wide variety of wildlife. Crabs perched on rocks or just below the surface as the tide falls. Eagles, ospreys, gulls, herons perched or nesting along shorelines.

Seals and sea lions on rocks, piers, jetties, are all more readily approached with the quiet of a kayak. On some mornings, in some harbors the wildlife comes to you. If moving silently and slowly we have encountered seals sleeping on our stern swim platform.

For those that don’t relish kayaking and seek rides that aren’t self propelled or close by, there is a new 10’ RIB dinghy with 10HP outboard. Whether this is used for the pleasure of visiting special restaurants ashore, getting to a special fishing spot , or landing somewhere deserted for a photography shoot or hiking adventure the flexibility and speed combine to provide multiple options.

Many people, since the finish of the pandemic, feel a very healthy renewed sense of wanting to be in nature. Our form of boating focuses on the fact that we are part of nature, not separate from it. Experiencing outdoor adventure boating on the Puget Sound brings a different focus. Nature renews and recharges our systems and brings us into alignment with all the natural forces that affect us.

Being on a boat immerses you in the natural rhythms that surround us yet are often missed on land. Tides, moon cycles, sunrises, bird migrations, when birds are nesting or feeding their offspring, weather patterns. These are things that go on most everywhere. Yet the fluidity of time spent on the water impacts you in a far different way.
You can choose to rise with the early summer sun and go for a kayak ride. Glide on a mirror smooth reflecting body of water and be back on board by 7am. Not even a stretch on a light filled Pacific NW day.

Imagine a leisurely breakfast, time for a relaxed conversation or short nap and by 11am the tide might have changed, creating a myriad of photographic opportunities in another nearby excursion. You might decide to visit another anchorage creating possibilities enroute to enjoy porpoises or Orcas, if in the area.

Well before sundown you could leisurely have experienced fishing, kayaking, stimulating conversations, enjoying a book, silence and the continuous diverse display that nature is providing all around you. It is not the slightest bit unusual to have added well more than a hundred photos if you are into outdoors photography. The richness of the Puget sound environment is what provides so many activities and adventures in nature.
There are many options available in creating a customized outdoor adventure boating on the Puget Sound.. We encourage you to consider one of our favorite questions to ask people. “How Great Can You Stand It?” Perhaps it is about doing less not more? Maybe you want to leave your cell phones on shore? Maybe you just want to spend a night anchored in a quiet cove listening to the sounds of nature surrounding you?
What is your pleasure?
